  • responding to enquiries;
  • administering relationships with supporters and stakeholders;
  • promoting and developing our charitable work;
  • maintaining the security of our website; and

Legal obligation

We may process and retain information where required by law, including for financial, taxation, charity governance, audit and regulatory purposes.

Special-category information

Where we process health or disability-related information, we will only do so where an additional lawful condition under data protection law applies, such as your explicit consent or another condition permitted by law.

6. Friends of the An Saol Foundation

When you register as a Friend, we may collect your name, contact details, organisation, areas of interest and communication preferences.

Where you make a donation through an external payment or fundraising platform, that provider may collect and process payment information directly.

The An Saol Foundation does not normally receive or retain full payment-card details. We may receive information such as your name, contact details, donation amount, date of donation and any associated message or consent preferences.

Payment and fundraising providers act under their own privacy policies and terms. You should review those policies before submitting payment information.

Some website, email, form, analytics, social-media or payment-service providers may process information outside Ireland or the European Economic Area.

Where this occurs, we will seek to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as an adequacy decision, approved contractual protections or another lawful transfer mechanism.

10. How long we keep information

We retain personal data only for as long as it is reasonably required for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet any legal, regulatory, financial or governance obligations.

  • event information may be retained for a reasonable period after the event for administration and reporting purposes.

Information that is no longer required will be securely deleted, anonymised or destroyed.
